EMMANUEL STAFF BIO
Dan Lawson has served as Emmanuel’s Executive Director of Development since 1988. Dan grew up in the Northwest, and he earned his BTh from Northwest Christian University in 1969, and his MDiv from Emmanuel in 1973. Dan brings a background of 22 years
in youth and singles ministry, serving churches in Oregon, Illinois, Kansas, Indiana, Tennessee, and Arizona.
In his work at Emmanuel, Dan has overseen the expansion of the School’s campus to include student housing in the Emmanuel Village, the Dana Gohn Prayer Garden, the Garden Chapel (Columbarium), the Thompson Community Center, and the Delno Brown Walking Trail.
In addition, Dan has worked to strengthen Emmanuel’s finances by overseeing the growth of the School’s gift income, endowment fund, general fund, and various capital campaigns.
Dan has been married to his wife, Linda, since 1972, and they have two grown children, Andrea and John. More recently, Dan and Linda have enjoyed the newest addition to their family, their grandson, Jude. They are active members of Grandview Christian Church in Johnson City, TN.
