EMMANUEL FACULTY BIO

John Mark Wade came to serve with the Emmanuel Christian Seminary community in 1992. He served as Assistant Librarian, Director of IT, and on June 1, 2011 was named Librarian directing library services.
Before coming to Emmanuel, John Mark was Director of the Library and Instructor at Dallas Christian College (1987-1992) and served as a guest lecturer at Lincoln Christian University (1983-1986).
John Mark has ministered to the local church as a youth minister, teacher, choir member, and church librarian.
After receiving a BA (1976) and MA (1980) in Ancient Near Eastern Studies from Cincinnati Christian University, John Mark did graduate work at the Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago and at the University of Leicester in England. He received his MSLS in Library and Information Science from the University of North Texas (1991).

John Mark’s passion is Near Eastern Archaeology. He has excavated at
Tell Halif in Israel for 5 seasons between 1976 and 1992, 1 season at ancient Carthage in Tunisia 1979, and 4 season with the
Karak Resources Project in Jordan from 1999-2011.
John Mark is married (32 years) to Connie Morgan Wade and they have 1 adult son – John Joseph Wade, who serves as minister at Westside Christian Church in Jonesborough, Tennessee.
